Hi, I'm Dr. Elena Shockman
I'm so grateful you're here. I know how difficult it can be to trust online pet products today — so I’d like to share a bit about myself and why I created Paw & Pestle.
My love for animals led me to study Animal Bioscience at Penn State, where I also minored in Microbiology and rode with the Equestrian Team. Before veterinary school, I conducted research at Temple University, then earned my veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After an internship in equine sports medicine in California, I returned home to Pennsylvania and found my calling in small animal emergency medicine — where I discovered my passion for surgery, critical care, and guiding families through their most stressful moments.
Over the years, I began to see a growing disconnect between veterinary medicine and preventive wellness. I founded Paw & Pestle to bridge that gap — giving veterinarians trusted, evidence-based tools and helping pet owners make confident, compassionate choices for their pets’ lifelong health.
